IBM & Unix XPFC ACCOUNT ...... a FoC utility to enable fast & easy data transfer via Xerox format floppy !
Management Summary
The original XPFC ACCOUNT package relied upon the Xerox laser having a
tape/cartridge drive which could be used to write out the contents of the Status File to
tape/cartridge ...... and it also relied upon access to a compatible tape/cartridge drive
being available on the IBM/Unix host.
The new PC based XPFCFLPY utility removes this constraint and provides a slicker and easier method of transferring this data to the host where XPFC ACCOUNT is to be run.
Using this utility has no impact upon the XPFC ACCOUNT package because it creates identical format output files as are normally expected by the XPFCACC1 program
XPFCFLPY is available for all common PC platforms .... 16/32 bit versions supporting DOS, Windows 3.1, 3.11, and Win95.
This utility (both DOS and Windows versions) are available Free of Charge upon request from the www.xpfc.com website ...... but it will require you to supply the license key that you already use for XPFC ACCOUNT in order to operate.

Run the XPFCFLPY.EXE file and select a
directory to unzip to when requested, or accept the default 'C:\XPFC\. |

Either run it as DOS command line utility
....... or install it with the supplied icon etc for Windows regimes |

Copy/type/edit your existing XPFC ACCOUNT license key into a DOS file called "XPFCFLPY.LIC" in the same directory/folder where XPFCFLPY has been UNZIP'ped into |

Running XPFCFLPY
The single XPFCFLPY utility provides two (three ?) simple support
functions;

It will provide a "dir" type
function to show what files are present on a Xerox format floppy disc |

It will allow you to specify a single
file on the Xerox format disc and transfer/convert it into a regular DOS format disc file
........ which is fully compatible with the existing format already used by XPFC ACCOUNT
....... ready for transfer to the host where XPFC ACCOUNT is to be run. If you have multiple input Xerox format files ..... then just invoke XPFCFLPY
the appropriate number of times |

It will additionally provide a "raw binary" transfer/conversion feature for any other files found on the Xerox format disc ...... this feature simply transfers the files "as found" and could typically be used for getting .FSL and .JSL source files onto another system for maintenance or security etc |
