This XPFC Product Overview should give you a good idea of XPFC's functionality and capabilities

Here's some typical Questions & Answers on XPFC for MVS/JES2

XPFC is already supported and available for use on a wide range of MVS/JES2 releases

Why have to choose between Online or Offline ?? With XPFC you can have BOTH so you can just pick & choose to suit your own preferred mode of working ....... great for backup, and for dealing with peak loads !

XPFC has a unique feature called the InFlight Reloader which means that even though it runs as JES2 Exit code, you DON'T have to restart JES2 when you want to implement any changes

The latest version of XPFC allows you to control DJDE and cover insertion depending upon the LPS printer that is going to be used by having controls that are "sensitive" to the target LPS enabling easy and safe exploitation of situations where there are mixed LPS's - say, a 4090 running alongside a 4850 - yet from a SINGLE XPFC system

New XPFC controls now allow DJDE and cover controls to be defined at individual COPY level for a dataset so that each and every copy of a dataset can be treated differently

Conversion away from XPM & 4075's is already established - a hassle-free transition off a 4075 running under XPM at the University of California, Riverside, California - the following Case Study explains how it was achieved

The XPFC/SIE2XRX feature provides powerful, yet flexible, transition and support for users wanting to convert from Siemens laser printers to Xerox LPS, and with the absolute minimum of hassle - XPFC/SIE2XRX actually processes and translates the JCL parameters PAGEDEF and FORMDEF originally coded for SIEPRT .... on-the-fly ! And remember ........ no JCL changes required.

The XPFC/3800 feature provides powerful, yet flexible, transition and support for users wanting to convert from IBM 3800 laser printers to LPS, and with the absolute minimum of hassle - XPFC/3800 actually processes and translates the JCL parameters PAGEDEF, FORMDEF, CHARS, UCS and FCB originally coded for 3800 use .... on-the-fly ! Just see some of the XPFC/3800 Case Studies on major installations ! And remember ........ no JCL changes required

Here is a library of XPFC Quick Start Decks that provide easy and rapid common conversion routes onto LPS's - you can download them and see them for yourself
