Technical Subjects on XPFC for UNIX

These pages have been brought together here because they're all of a technical nature, and somehow don't fit neatly into any of the more formal pages.

V2R2 of XPFC for UNIX was rolled-out during Spring 1996 in Europe - here's a summary of the features and enhancements.

V2R3 of XPFC for UNIX followed in the latter part of 1996 ... but was never launched in the USA ...... here's a summary of the features and enhancements.

V3R1 of XPFC for UNIX was rolled-out in April 1997 in Europe and the USA ...... there were some major changes to the code framework ..... and major extensions to the way in which Configurator Files were created and connected-up at runtime ........ here's a summary of the features and enhancements.

V3R1 also saw the introduction of powerful features to support the DocuPrint range of printers ...... XPFC gets the ability to produce VIPP output streams .... and can even run DJDE and VIPP powered lasers alongside each other.

The flexible nature of XPFC, coupled with the different ways that UNIX can deliver value-added Xerox printing services means that UNIX XPFC can be installed/implemented in a number of different ways to suit individual user demands/preferences WITHOUT reducing the functionality ....... so we've tried to summarise a number of different installation scenarios here to show what can be done.
